After my 120-pound weight loss I realized that even though I was flexible due to my 20 plus year yoga practice and eventually teaching yoga, my physical strength and stamina was seriously deteriorating. Additionally, my muscle ratio was low and my internal fat ratio was high. A true health hazard. In other words, my level of fitness for truly wanting to live a full life was in serious decline. Yes, my biking, hiking, carrying in groceries, climbing stairs and other daily physical activity in general was compromised. At 68 I went hunting for a person who would address my concerns and help me keep my daily nutrition, my fuel, on the right track. I was blest with Heather Newland.

In November of 2020, I began physically training with Heather, tracking my food, increasing my water intake determined to be a “successful ager”, determined to be healthy and fit! Now in 2022 at the age of 70, I train with Heather 2x a week (personal and a group) and train myself 2x a week. Plus, I completed my Senior Fitness Trainer Certification with American Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA).
